LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- At least one team from Central Kentucky will play for the state title in girl’s basketball on Saturday, March 15 in Lexington. George Rogers Clark will face off against Frederick Douglass at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the first semifinal. The teams are from the neigh boring 10th and 11th Regions. Head Coach Robbie Graham’s Lady Cardinals beat North Laurel 50-42 on Friday to book their spot. In the following game, Douglass held off Taylor County 61-53 to fill the spot next to GRC. Danville Christian Academy was able to get by Henderson County 60-55 to book their spot in the semifinals too. DCA bested Daviess County in the first round to reach the quarterfinals. Sacred Heart, who have won the tournament the past four years, is DCA’s opponent at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The finals are slated for 7:30 p.m. later that evening.
