Minot Police Department names Officer and Civilian of the Year

MINOT, ND (KXNET) — The Minot Police Department has announced its 2024 Civilian and Officer of the Year award recipients.
At a ceremony Monday at City Hall, an officer and a civilian each received an award for their contributions to the department's mission of serving its community. Employees o
f the department nominate each other for the award before the winners are determined.
Interim Minot Police Chief Dale Plessas announced the winners, which were Digital Analyst Becky Heringer for Civilian Employee of the Year, and Task Force Officer Gannon Miller for Officer of the Year.
Advocates push for gun safety awareness
Heringer's coworkers described her as a cornerstone of the department for her role in retrieving and managing digital data from evidence. She also helped develop a digital forensic system, which she created to help with investigations.
Miller was described as exceptional for his contribution as a senior officer on the Ward County Narcotics Task Force. He was credited with removing lots of dangerous drugs from the streets, including about 44,000 fentanyl pills in 2024 alone. He is also a member of the Minot SWAT team.
The other nominees were dispatchers Ashleigh Lonis and Shanlya Van Hill for the Civilian Employee of the Year, and Master Officer Memorie Andrade, Senior Officer Alex Harrington, and Officer Peggy Pfeiffer for Officer of the Year.
