TULARE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – An indoor sports-recreation facility, and new food and shopping destinations could all be coming to Tulare - the city is entertaining the idea of an entertainment district. Entertainment districts often include major retailers, movie theaters, hotels, and restaurant s. The city wants to go a step further by exploring the possibility of an indoor sports recreation facility. They say such a facility could attract sports tournaments to the area, generating tourism-related overnight stays and additional sales tax revenue. The new district would be located along Highway 99 at either the Carmill Interchange or the International Agri-Center Way Interchange. Consulting firm Victus Advisors has been hired to conduct an initial study to assess the feasibility of the development.
