Shawnee County roads reopen after grass fire Friday

SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) - Deputies closed several local roads Friday due to a large grass fire.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office (SNSO) said in a social media post that it shut down some local roads due to grass fires at around 2:30 p.m. on March 14. The closures included the following roads:
Southwest Carlson Road between 29th Street and 41st Street.
Southwest 33rd Street between Carlson Road and K-4 Highway.
The SNSO announced in a follow-up message the roads are open and the fire is out. People may use the area normally.
Northeast Kansas is under an extreme fire danger this week due to low humidity and strong wind gusts. Storms are also possible in some areas.
