INDIANAPOLIS -- Troopers with the Indiana State Police are at the scene of a crash involving a school bus which has caused a portion of I-465 northbound to be closed in northwest Indianapolis. Northbound traffic is being diverted off the interstate at 86th Street. The crash involved a bus from Washington, Indiana. The school corporation said robotics team students were onboard and heading to Kokomo for a competition. The students only suffered minor injuries. The scene of a crash on 465 on March 14, 2025. A notification from INDOT said five people were transported to a hospital as a result of the pileup, which was marked as a "serious bodily injury crash." "Expect long delays and avoid the area," said a post from the Indiana State Police at 4:34 p.m. At this time, investigators believe traffic congestion, speed and inattention were the causes of the multiple vehicle pile up.
