TOPEKA (KSNT) - The owners of a new American Kolache restaurant are inviting locals to swing by their location in west Topeka to try out the food on their opening day. 27 News checked in with Russell Clark, owner of the American Kolache franchise, this week about the new location in Topeka at 593 8 Southwest 17th Street. He said the business is officially open as of Friday, March 14 as its staff serve up the restaurants first kolaches to hungry customers. "Just flipping on the lights today and working out the kinks," Russell said. New CAVA Mediterranean restaurant coming to west Topeka Russell said the location is being operated by Aaron Wilkins and Jennifer Logan. The restaurant will be open Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. "It's always exciting to be in a new city for the first time," Russell said. "Topeka looks like a great town and super excited to be here. We got Aaron and Jennifer... great people to run it there from the community. People can purchase kolaches containing a verity of different sweet and savory food options such as sausage and gravy, bacon, egg, apple pie, raspberry cream cheese and more. Lunch options include items like meatball subs and Philly cheesesteak. "We bake everything fresh every morning, everything is handmade," Russell said. "It's basically hand-held deliciousness."
