Police in Wisconsin urge motorists not to drink and drive after woman crashes into tree

GREENDALE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southeast Wisconsin are warning against impaired driving after a woman crashed into a tree and had to be extricated from her overturned vehicle.
According to the Greendale Police Department, officers responded to the crash on Monday, where a woman veered
off the road, struck a tree, and flipped her vehicle onto its side.

Police broke the windshield to reach the driver before firefighters extricated her from the wreckage. Authorities cited drunk driving as the cause of the crash.
"Thankfully, no one else was hurt, but this could have ended much worse," the department stated. "Impaired driving puts everyone at risk."
The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Officials are reminding motorists to find a safe alternative to driving under the influence.

"Call a friend, use a rideshare, or find a safe way home," the department urged. "One bad decision isn't worth your life or someone else's."
