'Significant allegations of criminal misconduct': FBI investigation leads to arrest of Milwaukee PD officer

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) - A recent investigation into a Milwaukee PD officer began after the Department became aware of 'significant allegations of criminal misconduct,' culminating in his arrest and resignation.
A release provided by the Milwaukee Police Department states that on March 12, a poli
ce officer with 10 years of service resigned from the Department following an investigation into alleged misconduct. The investigation was conducted by the MPD Internal Affairs Division (IAD) in conjunction with the FBI.

On March 12, IAD detectives and federal investigators talked with the officer, leading to his arrest and resignation.
Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman expects all members, sworn and civilian, to demonstrate the highest ethical standards in the performance of their duties and was extremely disappointed to learn about the misconduct in this case. Chief Norman wants to remind the public that everyone is afforded the right of due process under the law, and as such, are innocent until proven guilty.

Officers described the investigation as 'open' and 'ongoing.' It is being led by the FBI and Milwaukee PD is "acting in full cooperation with [them]."
