COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A woman is suing the City of Columbia, the Columbia Police Department, and one of its former officers.
This comes as she claims she was sexually assaulted after she was arrested.
The lawsuit states that back in January while Officer Caleb Hickmon-Payne was taking Tay
lor Ishmal to Alvin S. Glenn for a bench warrant he allegedly propositioned her for sex and also sexually assaulted her.
Payne has since been fired and charged with second degree assault and misconduct in office.
The lawsuit accuses the defendants of gross negligence violating her 14th amendment rights… among other issues.
Ishmal is also demanding a jury trial over the incident.
The defendants have not yet responded.
