SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — Three people were displaced after a house fire on Randall Street Thursday.
An elderly man, who was the only person home at the time of the fire, evacuated safely, according to the fire department.
No firefighters were hurt.
The fire started after 12 p.m. Wednesday.

ighters arrived to find heavy fire on the first and second floor of the home, according to the deputy chief.
The fire started in a wood stove in the basement, he said.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family that was displaced.
