ith attempted to make a traffic stop on a truck 2 p.m. Thursday, which then failed to stop. Following a pursuit, the truck turned on to a dirt road, where it temporarily became stuck. Smith exited his vehicle and approached the truck, but it soon began to move again once it was able to gain traction. Smith gave verbal commands for the driver of the truck to stop. When he failed to do so, Smith fired his agency-issued service weapon and striking the truck's window. The driver, 34-year-old Isaac Spears, was medically cleared and lodged in the Mason County Detention Center. The incident remains under investigation. ORIGINAL STORY:A Flemingsburg man is facing charges following an officer-involved shooting on Thursday, the Fleming County Sheriff reports. The Fleming County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police were in pursuit of a suspect vehicle as part of an ongoing investigation when then pursuit escalated, resulting the shooting.
