SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — A home on Randall Street in Smithfield caught fire Thursday afternoon.
Smithfield Deputy Fire Chief Steve Quattrini said the fire started just before 1 p.m. and crews were met with heavy flames as they arrived on scene.
No one was injured.
The American Red Cross
said it's providing assistance to a family of three adults.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Quattrini said it may have been "due to a wood-burning stove" in the basement.
