Lexington St. Patrick’s Parade canceled; festival to move indoors due to severe weather
Mar 13, 2025
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The annual Lexington St. Patrick’s Parade, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled due to the threat of severe weather and a high wind advisory.
Organizers announced Thursday that while the parade will not take place, festival performances will
be moved indoors to the Lyric Theatre starting at 10:30 a.m.
“While this was not the decision we wanted to make, the safety of our participants, attendees, event staff, and volunteers is our paramount concern,” said Megan Moloney, parade chair, in a news release. “The potential for severe weather would create difficult conditions for spectators, as well as parade marchers, floats, and our stage performers. However, we’re glad to be able to offer a ‘mini-festival’ at the Lyric Theatre.”
According to the release, the relocated event at the Lyric Theatre will feature performances from local Irish dance groups, pipe bands, and musical acts. You can find the schedule at lexingtonstpatsparade.org/festival and on their Facebook page.
