INDIANAPOLIS — A motorcyclist was struck by an SUV on Indianapolis's near southeast side Thursday evening, police confirmed.
The Indianapolis Metro Police Department said officers were called around 6:43 p.m. to the area of E. Raymond Street and S State Avenue. When police arrived, they found a
motorcyclist in critical condition, who had reportedly collided with an SUV.
The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital, IMPD said.
However, IMPD said the driver of the SUV did not stay on the scene. They reportedly pulled into a nearby strip mall, exited the vehicle and ran north on State Ave. Police said the SUV driver was apprehended shortly after.
The conditions leading up to the crash have not yet been provided.
