'Real enduring interest in children': Wisconsin man sentenced to 8 years for child porn possession

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) - United States Attorney Timothy M. O'Shea announced on Wednesday that a 41-year-old Wisconsin man was sentenced to eight years for transporting child pornography.
According to a release, Chief United States District Judge James D. Peterson sentenced Paul Clement of Bloomer a
fter Clement pled guilty on November 26. Clement will also spend 20 years on supervised release following the eight-year sentence.

The charge stems from when Homeland Security investigators found on January 10, 2024, that Clement had uploaded 13 files of child sexual abuse material to his Google Photos account. Agents also learned that he sent three of the same files to one of his other email accounts.
The videos depicted girls ages 8-12 being sexually assaulted by adult men.
Clement admitted to receiving these videos from social media sites designed for those with sexual fetishes, and that he used the site to roleplay sexual scenarios including child sexual abuse.

Judge Peterson stated that Clement had a 'real and enduring interest in children,' and emphasized his prior convictions including a 2005 conviction in Wisconsin for child sexual assault. Clement's history led Judge Peterson to deem a significant sentence necessary.
