We're mostly clear tonight with evening temps dropping out of the 60s and falling through the 50s. The past couple of mornings have been cold ones, in the 20s and 30s, but Friday morning's lows are only around 40°.
Temps fall into the 40s later tonight.
During the day Friday, our next weather
system moves closer and closer. As a result, our winds will be picking up in speed.
You can expect high temperatures to surge into the 70s for the first time this year. A high in the mid-70s is likely Friday afternoon.
Friday's high temperatures will be around 30° above our average high temp in mid-March.
While rain and storms are on the way, no rain falls until late Fri night/early Sat morning.
Rain and storms start to move in between 4 am and 7 am.
Wind speeds keep increasing Friday night as rain and storms move in from this next system. Some of the storms may be strong and gusty ones, but the highest severe storm potential is west of us. The late night timing reduces our chances for the strongest storms.
The late Fri/early Sat rain moves east for the daytime, but another area of low pressure moves in from the south, bringing additional rain/storm chances to the region during the afternoon, continuing into the night. Some of these storms may be strong and gusty, too.
More rain and gusty storms are possible from afternoon to evening, though there will be rain-free times, too.
Our winds continue to increase on Saturday. Top gusts, up to 55 mph from the SW, are possible. Don't worry about sprucing up the yard or doing any spring clean-up outside this weekend. It'll be a battle with these gusty winds. Just bring any loose yard objects inside and wait for some less windy days.
Saturday's top wind gusts have the potential to reach 50-55 mph.
Saturday's highs will reach to around 73° in Fort Wayne.
The periods of rain continue into early morning Sunday. Our Saturday night/early Sunday wind gusts are still quite strong from the NW, up to 45 mph.
Sunday turns colder with a morning high of 50° and temps gradually falling through the day. And more windy moments will mean a significant chill will be in the air.
