Winter advisory causes closures, delays for mountain schools

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE)—Several mountain area schools announced delays or closures due to a winter weather advisory Thursday morning.
Officials with Mariposa County Schools say with forecasted snowfall of 6 to 12 inches expected between 3,000 and 4,000 feet in certain areas, all schools wil
l operate on a 2-hour delay to ensure the safety of students and staff.
School officials say they will reassess later this morning to determine if a full closure is necessary.
Yosemite Unified says all of its schools are closed today.
The Bass Lake School District says school is cancelled for Oakhurst Elementary, Oak Creek Intermediate Schools, and the Wasuma Elementary School. ...read more read less
