(WFRV) - During a court hearing on Thursday, Jesse Vang's attorneys requested and were granted more time to review paperwork in the case connected to the death of 3-year-old Elijah Vue. Court records show that a status conference was scheduled for June 20, delaying a potential trial even further. ‘We are forever grateful for all the help’: Two Rivers Police issue release on one-year anniversary of 3-year-old Elijah Vue’s disappearance The defense reportedly stated that they needed more time to review the 'thousands' of pages of police paperwork, citing an "enormous amount of discovery." The defense went on to say that there are over 7,000 pages of police reports alone, not including all the videos, interviews, and everything else. The presiding judge granted the request. 40-year-old Vang currently faces two felony charges and one misdemeanor charge including the Physical Abuse of a Child, Repeated Acts Causing Death, and Hiding a Corpse. Elijah’s mother Katrina Baur is also facing a number of charges including Chronic Neglect of a Child Resulting in Death, Neglecting a Child Under 6 Years Old or with a Disability, and two counts of Resisting an Officer.
