Enfield Square Mall redevelopment project to get $10M boost

ENFIELD, CT. (WWLP) - The 2030 Community Investment Fund has approved $10 million to help the town of Enfield re-develop the Enfield Square Mall.

The funds now need final approval from the State Bond Commission, ac
cording to WTNH. If this money is approved, the redevelopment would include new retail space, restaurants, and lifestyle shops.
Enfield lawmakers say redeveloping the mall would create 300,000 sqft of new anchor retail, hundreds of new jobs, increase tax revenue for Connecticut and provide more affordable housing. This money will also help with environmental issues on the property.
The town of Enfield also committed about $16 million in tax concessions to the project.
