PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A popular Providence seafood restaurant is back open after undergoing renovations. Hemenway’s, which temporarily closed for renovations back in January, opened back up for business on March 5. "Hemenway’s is an institution, and as such, it was important to us th at we preserved much of its iconic look," Newport Restaurant Group's Nicole Christie said. The South Main Street restaurant is now home to a brand new raw bar that features three high-top bar booths. Hemenway's also boasts enhanced views of the city, a white quartz backdrop and live lobster tanks. Christie said the restaurant's menu has been updated, with the most notable change being a variety of crudos and tartares. "We hope our new and loyal guests will be wowed by the refresh and our exciting new menu offerings," she said. Hemenway's is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
