SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- We are keeping an eye on the next storm system and where some of the heaviest precipitation will fall. Here's what we've found. Our active March pattern is trying to replenish the lack of moisture for many in KELOLAND. While our next storm system this weekend will bri ng in moisture, there will be areas that may not receive that much. UPDATE: Cheyenne River Sioux wildfire ‘under control’ The dry ground continues to have an effect on the temperatures in KELOLAND as temperatures warmed well above average today with highs in the 60s, 70 and possibly 80 degree weather will be here for tomorrow. But the parched ground will have a chance for precipitation for the first half of the weekend. This graphic shows where some of the heaviest precipitation will fall. A lot of it is setting up along and near Interstate 29. Embedded in what you see on the map will be areas of an inch or more, NOT for everyone. This a look at the lack of moisture in Sioux Falls since the winter months. The city received half of their climate average precipitation. It's close to what Winner had this winter too, as Winner had 55% of their average. Go back to the fall months and Winner has had 27% of its climate average. Winner is also an area in KELOLAND that is listed close to the extreme drought category. But it looks like the bulk of our next storm will miss Winner.
