2 arrested in Hanford for check fraud, drug possession

HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two people were arrested in Hanford after officers discovered forged checks, suspected fraudulent credit card equipment, and methamphetamine during a traffic stop, according to the Hanford Police Department.
Officers say they conducted a traffic stop on March 8 at
around 1 p.m. in the 800 block of S. 10th Avenue, where they identified two wanted individuals: 36-year-old Brenda Flores and 35-year-old Andrew Medina.

According to police, Flores was wanted in connection to a check fraud case in which she allegedly cashed a forged check worth approximately $1,800 at a Hanford business. Investigators say the check belonged to a local school district. Medina was wanted on an arrest warrant from a nearby county.
During a search of their vehicle, officers say they discovered more suspected fraudulent checks, equipment believed to be used to create fake access or credit cards, and approximately 40 grams of what was presumed to be methamphetamine.
Both Flores and Medina were arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail on multiple charges.
The Hanford Police Department continues to investigate the case.
