CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - While western Massachusetts has seen a lot of cold this winter, there hasn't been much snow.
It is now the end of January and while it has been a cold winter, it has also been pretty dry overall. Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee on average, by the end of January, has around 20 inches of snow for the season, but so far there has only been 10.6 inches of snow.
Wind Advisory: Gusts up to 50MPH in western Massachusetts
When looking at the winter season as a whole from December through March, Westover on average ends the season with 49.5 inches of snow. As of now, the snowfall deficit for the season is 38.9 inches.
Some light snow is expected Tuesday night across western Massachusetts with a coating to 2 inches in the Pioneer Valley and a little more in the Berkshires.
There could be a little more snow in areas for Friday and Sunday this week as well, but it will need to take a big snowstorm to catch us up on where we should be.
