Warwick to provide update on construction of 2 new high schools
Jan 28, 2025
WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A special Warwick School Committee meeting on Tuesday night is scheduled to give an update on the constriction of the city's new high schools.
Construction on the upgraded Pilgrim High School will begin in April and Toll Gate High School in May, according to a public forum.
Students and staff will then be able to move into the buildings in the summer of 2027.
It was revealed in October that the cost to build the schools would be nearly $40 million more than the $350 million bond voters passed.

According to a project update posted for Tuesday, estimated budget costs have been lowered.
The public is welcome to speak at the 6 p.m. meeting and ask any questions to a panel of experts about the project.
Individual comments will be limited to five minutes per person, and as typical for these types of meetings, school committee members will only respond to items on the agenda.
