A witness who spotted spoke pouring from the Near North Side apartment building helped rescue a 67-year-old woman from the flames Monday night on the Near North Side, according to Chicago police.When first responders arrived at the scene in the 100 block of West Oak Street at 8:26 p.m. firefighters also helped the 67-year-old woman from the burning building and into an ambulance, police said. She suffered from smoke inhalation and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The Chicago Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire. ...read more read less
