HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke police arrested two Springfield residents following a disturbance on Chestnut Street Sunday evening. According to Holyoke Police Department, officers were called around 5:30 p.m. for reports of a disturbance involving an alleged threat with a firearm. The suspect vehicle, containing three occupants, was located on the 100 block of Chestnut Street. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Shyloe Harris, and passengers, 25-year-old Michael Bedinelli and a juvenile, were removed from the vehicle during a traffic stop. Officers discovered a loaded firearm in Bedinelli’s pants during a search. Courtesy of Holyoke Police Department Harris was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and making a threat to commit a crime. Bedinelli faces several firearms charges, including possession of a large-capacity loaded firearm and ammunition without proper licensing. The juvenile passenger was released to his mother. “Both these suspects are well-known in Springfield, and I applaud our officers for de-escalating a dangerous situation, seizing an illegal firearm, and taking these suspects into custody,” Chief Keenan stated. “We will not tolerate illegal firearms in our city.
