LIHUʻE, Hawaii (KHON2) -- A 23-year-old man was killed following a single-motorcycle traffic incident at around 11 p.m. on Jan. 26. Get Hawaii's latest morning news delivered to your inbox, sign up for News 2 You The man was operating his 2008 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Kaumualiʻi Highway near Hoʻomana Road in Lihuʻe when he lost control of his bike, crashing. Good Samaritans were administering CPR to the man upon arrival of first responders. The biker was transported to Wilcox Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The crash resulted in the closure of Kaumualiʻi Highway in both directions for approximately two hours while KPD investigated the scene. While the investigation remains ongoing, speed and weather conditions appear to be suspected factors in the crash. This is Kauaʻi's first traffic fatality of the year.
