Rain, Snow and Everything In Between
Jan 27, 2025
Today is arguably the quietest day of the week before we dive into a very unsettled pattern.
Monday will be mostly sunny, with high temperatures in the upper 30s- right around the average for this time of year. That said, it will be quite breezy, with wind speeds in the teens at times and gusts up to about 25 mph.
Clouds increase overnight, and Tuesday will start cloudy. As a cold front passes through southern New England, Tuesday could also start with a few brief snow showers. The bigger issue is that winds will kick up even more, with speeds between 10-20 mph, and gusts up to about 40 mph. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 30s but are very short-lived, as temperatures start to fall after the front.
As the clock strikes midnight and we turn the calendar to Wednesday, our next round of snow approaches. Right now, it looks like we’ll see snow showers between around 1 AM and 5 AM on Wednesday. As the sun comes up, be wary of slick spots on the road, even as the snow tapers off. Highs will hover around 40 degrees, and in the late afternoon, and we could see a shower or wintry mix before the sun sets.
Thursday is sunnier but cold, with high temperatures only in the upper 20s.
The end of the week/weekend is still somewhat up in the air. We’re closely following a storm that could bring rain, a wintry mix, and even more snow to the region. We’ll have more throughout the week!
