CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Hospitals around the country are expanding programs to bridge the gap between good food and good health with a food pharmacy. The thought being that doctors or dietitians can prescribe medicines or dietary changes but if their patients don’t have access to quality, healthy foods, then health improvements are less likely to happen. WCCB Charlotte’s Michael Yoshida shows us how one hospital is teaming up with a food bank in hopes of solving the problem by making one-stop shops for addressing health needs of patients.
