CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County recently announced that they would be providing a 5% credit on all real estate tax bills that are due in June. The county announced in January that surplus revenue from the previous fiscal year has allowed them to apply the credit, similar to what they did back in 2023, according to the county's website. The average homeowner will save around $150 to $200 on first-half 2025 real estate taxes due to the reallocated $15 million, which is around half of the county's operating surplus from 2024.
