LOVB Austin hands Omaha its 1st loss of the season

AUSTIN (KXAN) — It doesn't matter what jersey Madisen Skinner is in, she will make her presence felt in a big way on the volleyball court.
The former Longhorns star smacked 10 kills with a .450 hitting percentage to lift Austin over Omaha 3-0 in a League One Volleyball (LOVB) match Saturday at Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.

Set scores were 25-23, 25-20, 25-15. Skinner was named the player of the match, making just one error in 20 attack attempts.
The win moves Austin to 2-2 and gives Omaha its first loss in LOVB's inaugural professional season. Along with Austin and Omaha, LOVB has pro teams in Houston, Salt Lake City, Atlanta and Madison, Wisconsin.

The LOVB Austin team is full of players who used to wear burnt orange at Texas. Along with Skinner, Logan Eggleston, Asjia O'Neal, Zoe Jarvis (Fleck), Molly McCage, Chiaka Ogbogu, Juliann Faucette, Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres and Khat Bell are former Longhorns on the roster.
Eggleston and Faucette both had nine kills and a block in the win over Omaha. Ogbogu had six kills and four blocks.
Along with the six professional teams, LOVB has 58 affiliated junior clubs across the country. The LOVB organization was founded in 2020.
Austin plays home matches at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park and Strahan Arena in San Marcos. They play Salt Lake City on the road Feb. 1 and take on Houston at the H-E-B Center on Feb. 5.
