A teenager was killed and two other teens were injured after being shot inside a Far South Side residence shortly after noon Sunday, according to Chicago police. Officers responded to the 13100 block of South Corliss Avenue, where the three male teenagers had been shot by an “unknown offender,” police said. One of them, a 16-year-old, suffered nine gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 1:56 p.m. after being transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition, according to the police and records from the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The medical examiner identified him as Makai Rodriguez. A 17-year-old was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition with eight gunshot wounds. An 18-year-old was transported to the same hospital with a gunshot wound to his right arm and wrist; he was last listed in good condition.
