WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a 14-year-old has died after he was shot in Southeast D.C. on Sunday afternoon.
MPD said that at about 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of South Capitol St. SE for the report of a shooting.
Police arrest 2 people in connection to armed assault in Southwest DC
Officers found a 14-year-old boy who had been hit by gunfire. He was unconscious but breathing at the time, according to police.
Medics took the boy to the hospital, where he died.
MPD said officers were looking for two people who were armed and seen heading toward Interstate 295 in a white Kia sedan.
The investigation is ongoing.
