MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said multiple families were displaced after a fire destroyed a townhouse in Wheaton early Sunday. Credit: MCFRS Credit: MCFRS Crews said that at about 2:50 a.m., they were sent to the 10700 block of Lester St. for a townhouse fire. When first responders arrived at the scene, they saw fire on all levels of the home. However, the electric meter/utilities were damaged, which impacted about 10 townhouses. PEPCO expects the power to be out for about 5 to 6 hours, according to MCFRS. Ride On buses were at the scene to provide temporary shelter.
