WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A duplex in south Wichita caught fire overnight. Just before midnight, the Wichita Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a duplex fire in the 2600 block of S. Fees St. Police reported heavy fire in the duplex. Upon arrival, crews reported fire showing and began to put it out. As additional companies arrived, a search was conducted on both sides of the duplex. "Due to the advanced fire conditions and questionable structure integrity, all crews were ordered to exit the structure. Portions of the duplex did collapse," said Battalion Chief Jose Ocadiz. The fire was eventually brought under control, but it remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
