PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- Petersburg residents may experience low water pressure on Sunday as crews work to replace a main water line that serves the city.
At 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, the City of Petersburg reported that its Public Works Department and contractors will begin work to replace a main water line that serves the city.
While no interruption in water service is anticipated, officials said some residents may experience temporary low water pressure, however, the water will be safe to drink even if the pressure is low.
The city asks all residents to conserve water where possible while repairs are underway as it will help to complete the project as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The city said the project is expected to continue until early afternoon on Sunday.
"The City of Petersburg appreciates your patience and understanding as crews work to replace the water line. The City is committed to ensuring reliable and safe water service for all residents," the City of Petersburg said in its Facebook post.
