Community Link: Arthur Dean Family Foundation INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each week on Community Link, Carolene Mays takes a look at an organization or business that is making a positive impact on the community. This week, Mays was joined by Dr. River Sturdivant, the new executive director at the Arthur Dean Family Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit dedicated to giving youth access to opportunities, experiences, and relationships in Marion, Hamilton, and Whitley counties. “The values of the foundation are centered on connection, because relationships are important. Clarity to do what we can to rid of ourselves of this mystique related to the foundation world…” Sturdivant said. Over the past five years, the Arthur Dean Family Foundation has given $20 million in grants to over 40 organizations across the three counties. Sturdivant said the foundation wants to focus on creating an environment that promotes learning, not only for the youth, but for the organizations to better learn how to spread their reach.
