FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Rescue Mission and Summit City Climbing Co. are teaming up to raise funds and footwear for those in need.
Edwin Chow, Owner of Summit City Climbing Co., said the Critical Winter Shoe and Sock Drive aims to prevent frostbite this winter. He stated that the life-threatening condition may lead to several health complications, and possible amputation.
From Jan. 21 to Jan. 30, the Summit City Climbing Co. is collecting gently used shoes and socks. The company has a goal to donate 500 pairs for the Rescue Mission's men, women and children.
To round off its donation drive, the climbing company is also donating 100% of proceeds from day pass sales on Jan. 30 to The Rescue Mission.
Day passes are $17 per person. Climbers are able to claim a "limited-edition collectible patch" with each pass purchase.
Summit City Climbing Co. is located on 1331 E. Berry Dr. Click here to find its operation hours.
