Fatal hit and run reported in Escondido

Police in Escondido are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a man dead Saturday night. Sgt. Russ Whitaker said a witness saw a man on the ground at the intersection of Seven Oaks Road and Rock Springs Road at about 6:20 p.m. and called 911. Whitaker said the victim was 33 years old and was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
