LAWRENCE TWP. — Malachi Jeffers-Viera added a milestone to an already outstanding senior season. While Jeffers-Viera went over 1,000 career points on a fourth-quarter dunk for the West Windsor-Plainsboro North boys basketball team, it wasn’t enough to lift his team to a victory as hard-charging Notre Dame came away with a 54-49 victory on Saturday. Jeffers-Viera scored a game-high 29 points for the Knights (14-3) and also grabbed 10 rebounds. Will Foley led three players in double figures with 17 points for the Irish (10-6), who have won five in a row. Josh Gatete added 14 points and Charlie Schurr tallied 10. ND used a 21-12 third quarter to take the lead and held off North over the final eight minutes.
