ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The UNM track and field team kicked off its home indoor season with a bang. During the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational on Saturday, two UNM runners set collegiate records.
Both the men's and women's mile races were dominated by UNM. Freshman Collins Kiprotich won the men's race with a time of 3:53.40 and fellow freshman Pamela Kosgei won the women's race with a time of 4:30.67. Not only are both times program and facility records, but they both came in as the fastest time at altitude in collegiate history.
