Colby Stevenson wins gold in inaugural X Games street style event

Parkite Colby Stevenson took home his fourth X Games gold medal in Friday’s Aspen X Games inaugural street style skiing competition. Stevenson advanced out of the Games’ playoff bracket rounds to the finals, where he topped three competitors. The new event featured Stevenson and the field performing tricks off railings, staircases and other street-like features. The classification is thought to be more accessible, with such features available everywhere to practice on. Stevenson also competed in knuckle huck and slopestyle events at the Games, finishing fourth and sixth, respectively.Fellow Parkite freeskiers who posted strong results Friday were Bella Bacon and Mac Forehand, who finished second and third, respectively, in their street style and slopestyle competitions.The Games are slated to wrap up with Saturday night’s men’s skiing big air competition, which begins at 8:30 p.m. The field of eight includes Forehand and fellow Parkites Alex Hall and Troy Podmilsak.
