MORENO VALLEY — A 42-year-old woman suspected of sexually assaulting a male juvenile inmate while she was a Riverside County correctional officer has been taken into custody, authorities announced Friday.
Deputies were contacted Thursday by Riverside County Probation Department personnel regarding an alleged relationship involving a former employee and a boy in custody, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators later identified Moreno Valley resident Cecilia Pulido as a person of interest and arrested her on Friday.
Pulido was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of annoying and molesting a child, sexual contact with a prisoner or inmate, and other related unspecified offenses.
“Pulido was hired by the Riverside County Probation Department in 2023 as a probation corrections officer. However, she resigned before these allegations were revealed,” sheriff’s officials said in a statement.
Anyone with additional information regarding the case was encouraged to call Special Victims Unit Master Investigator Juan Abdrae at 951-955-1701.
