Arctic Air Returns This Week
Jan 25, 2025
Clouds build in tonight and temperatures drop off into the lower-20s. Sunday finishes the weekend with morning clouds followed by increasing sunshine. Sunday highs will top near 40. Mainly dry with increasing winds Monday with colder highs near 36. Wind chills will make it feel much colder. A weak area of low pressure comes through on Tuesday with a chance of snow squalls and windy conditions. Winds will gust near 30 mph and highs top out near 40. No accumulations are expected with the snow squalls, but visibilities may reduce and make driving hazardous. An Alberta Clipper system is coming through New England on Wednesday with snow showers. The models are split on whether it comes through here or only in northern New England. As of now, expect a mostly cloudy and breezy day with highs high near 41. Much colder air arrives for Thursday. Although we will be mainly sunny, temperatures will top out in the 20s. With the breezes expected near 25 mph, it will feel much colder. Friday will be more of the same as Arctic air keeps it cold and high pressure keeps us sunny. High temperatures will top in the mid-20s.
