SDSU men roll over USD in first meeting of season

BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) -- The SDSU men's basketball team won its ninth straight game in its series with USD, 90-71, in at First Bank & Trust Arena Saturday evening.
The Jackrabbits featured a balanced scoring attack with five players in double figures. Kalen Garry paced the team with 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting from beyond the 3-point line. He just missed a double-double with nine rebounds Owen Larson followed with 18 on 4-of-7 shooting from deep. Stoney Hadnot contributed 14 off the bench. Oscar Cluff registered his 14th double-double of the season with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Matthew Mors added 10.
Four Coyotes posted double figures. Mayuom Buom, Chase Forte and Isaac Bruns each netted 11 points. Shey Eberwein recorded 10.
The Jacks scored the first eight points of the game en route to a wire-to-wire victory. The lead was double figures the final 34:38 of the game. State led 49-32 at halftime.
SDSU owned the glass, outrebounding South Dakota 49-31. The Yotes were limited to just 17% (4-of-24) from deep, compared to the Jacks hitting 39% (12-for-31).
SDSU gets set to visit NDSU on Thursday, while USD prepares to host Omaha.
