NASHVILLE, Tn. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Despite coming back from a 14-point halftime deficit, the cats couldn’t close it out in the Music City.
The cats were without the help of Andrew Carr, who was listed as out for Saturday’s game as he continued to monitor a back injury.
The cats were down 41-27 at the half; their lowest point total at the half this season. While they managed to battle back and take the lead in the second half, it never held.
Kentucky averages five players in double figures, but only three hit the mark on Saturday. Otega Oweh led the team yet again with 21 points. Ansley Almonor had 12 and Jaxson Robinson finished with 11. The cats also tallied only 11 assists, compared to the commodores 21.
The big killer for the cats was turnovers. Kentucky turned the ball over 17 times, which led to 14 points for the commodores.
The cats have now lost two SEC games in a row, while the Commodores are celebrating back-to-back top-ten wins on their home court.
