IMPD: Driver hospitalized after striking KIPP Indy Schools building

INDIANAPOLIS — A driver was hospitalized after he allegedly struck a KIPP Indy Schools building on Saturday evening.
Public police reporting systems indicate Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of East 30th Street around 5:37 p.m. on a report of a crash with injuries. Police later confirmed that they found a driver who had struck a KIPP Indy Schools building when they arrived at the scene.
IMPD subsequently began to investigate the crash and make school administrators aware of it.
Police identified the driver involved in the crash as an adult male. He was ultimately transported to Eskenazi Hospital in stable condition.
IMPD did not specify the extent of the damage the building sustained during the crash. As of this article's publication, KIPP Indy administrators had not provided any information on the crash or the damage it caused.
Police have not announced if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. Exactly how the crash started is currently unknown.
