WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Hartsprings Foundation hosted its monthly donation drive in West Springfield to collect clothing and households goods for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Hartsprings is a non-profit dedicated to supporting re-purposing, recycling, and reuse of gently used items. Clothing and textiles make up at least 7% of the total amount of waste in landfill space and 66% of unwanted clothes and textiles are land filled. Donating to Hartsprings helps keep waste out of landfills and everything donated goes right back in to the community. "We collect usable donations and it helps the Big Brothers and mentor program." Emiliano Quinones, ambassador and driver leader of the foundation, told 22News. "And we also have a partnership with Savers." Donations can always be dropped off at a drop-off bin, or you can schedule a pick up at your residence. For more information on where drop-off locations are, click here.
