CLYDE, N.Y. (WROC) – One person was hospitalized after the vehicle they were operating went down an embankment through an icy pond Friday in the town of Lyons on Gansz Road. First Responders were told the patient was trapped in the vehicle with only their head above water. The patient was extricated from the vehicle and with Wayne County EMS shortly before other units arrived to the scene. It took crews time to recover the vehicle because of the water height and position of the vehicle in the water. The weather was another obstacle first responders faced while at the scene.
