Brewster man dies in Plymouth car crash

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WWLP) - Massachusetts State Police responded to a vehicle crash in Plymouth late Friday night, which resulted in the death of a man from Brewster.

State Police said that shortly before midnight on Friday, troopers got a report regarding a wrong-way driver on Route 3 South in Plymouth. Around the same time, a trooper who was on patrol had notified his command about a two-vehicle crash at mile marker 9.2, and it was determined that the incidents were related.
As a result of the crash, all southbound lanes were temporarily closed. State Police officers, as well as Massachusetts Department of Transportation officials, went to the location of the crash. Plymouth officers closed down Route 3 and diverted traffic until around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday when the roads reopened.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash and was brought to a hospital in Plymouth where they passed away shortly afterward. He has been identified as Adam Plaice, 26, of Brewster.
The second vehicle in the crash was operated by a woman in her late 20s. Massachusetts State Police said that she sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to a local hospital.
Massachusetts State Police is currently investigating the incident, and offers condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
